You’ll have to rename the column back to Minutes, but you’ll have that formula now applied to every row of your spreadsheet for that column.Select the entire column (column C in my example) by selecting the column header.Calculate total work hours with lunch and breaks. This online time clock uses a standard 12-hour work clock with am and pm or a 24-hour clock for military time. Copy (Ctrl+C) the result in the first cell with the formula (C3 in my example). Use this calculator to add up your work week time sheet and calculate work hours for payroll. To apply this formula to the entire column: When you release the mouse, all those cells you dragged this formula over will be converted to minutes and seconds.(See below for how to apply it to ALL cells in the column.) Click in the C3 cell and ‘grab’ the bottom right handle of the cell marker (it turns to a + sign when you’ve grabbed it correctly) and drag it down the other cells in column C.Type =B3*1440 in the formula bar, then press Enter to convert the hours and minutes into minutes. In my example, that was C3, which pairs with B3. Put the cursor in the first cell in the new column that pairs with a cell in the hh:mm column.(To format the column, select the column header, right-click on it, select Format Cells, select Number on the Number tab, then change the Decimal Places value to 0. Click OK.) Set the format for the cells in this new column to Number with no decimal places - this formatting is critical for the formula to work.Insert a new column (C) and called it Minutes.(To format the column, select the column header, right-click on it, select Format Cells, select Custom on the Number tab, then select h:mm from the list of types. ![]() Set the format for this column to Custom > h:mm.(Yes, those non-stop flights to/from Sydney to Dallas Fort Worth are killers!) Enter elapsed times in hours and minutes (using the format hh:mm) in Column B.This is where I got caught - I didn’t have the correct formatting applied to the cells. To convert hours and minutes to minutes, you have to multiply the hh:mm value by 1440 (which is 24 multiplied by 60 ), AND make sure you set the formatting correctly for the both the hh:mm cells and the resulting minute cells. But I had to do quite a bit of trial and error and Googling to get it to work. ![]() Converting hours and minutes (hh:mm) to minutes in an Excel spreadsheet is actually quite simple, once you know what to do. ![]() I had so much more fun doing this than I thought I would, honestly.I spent a lot more time on this than I thought I would, and I feel like I’ll probably spend more time on this trying to find a really cool design I like (and possibly gaining a better understanding why the graphs look the way they do…). Messing around with the graphs was actually more entertaining than I thought it would be.It is so fun when art and math intersect, I loved it!!!!! I think this was so awesome! I love art and this felt like art to me.I also am a bit curious if you had any mathematical thought as you were playing on Desmos? You don’t have to say what thoughts you had (if any) - just if you had any.”Įvery student responded positively. Y’all tend to be honest when I ask for feedback, and I appreciate it! I genuinely want to know. I want to know if you enjoyed doing it or not. I asked my kids, when submitting their artwork, “This is something new I came up with this year. I think when I announce the winners, I’ll have the class go to the board, have everyone point out a few that they like, and then I’ll make my grand pronouncement. I expected everyone to love the same ones I do. And what I’ve found fascinating is that so far, very few kids pick the same polar art pieces as their favorites. Kids from my class, but also kids from other grades. I want to just let them appreciate the work of their classmates for now.Īfter creating the bulletin board, I’ve seen kids look at the artwork. I haven’t yet told my kids who the winners are. So I added an optional third animated polar graph category. However, some students were animating the sliders and coming up with fun animations (like this or this… watch both for a while). And students needed to create the coolest polar art using multiple equations. Students needed to create the coolest polar graph with one equation. Then I showed kids a google doc which had all the info for the contest - and the link to the google form to submit their entries. ![]() Some who were getting boring graphs saw the cool graphs their classmates were getting and were inspired to mix things up since they knew they could make neat things. They gasped and turned their screens to show their friends. They got excited by what they were seeing. They dug into old functions they had learned about. Then I gave everyone 7 minutes to just come up with something pretty. Then I might have altered the function a bit more, like and we saw what happened. So for example, if they said, I might have added the slider. I then pulled up desmos and asked my kids to shout out some polar function. So after our unit on polar graphing, I took 10 minutes at the start of class to introduce this idea of a Polar. (Now to be fair, desmos isn’t great with creating great complicated polar graphs… and it’s better to write them parametrically to get a bit more accuracy… so this is a bit of a lie of a graph in that it isn’t totally accurate… but it’s oh so pretty.) Why? Because one day during the polar unit, I started playing around with desmos and accidentally created: This was something I wanted to do after introducing polar graphing. Then I printed them out on photopaper and hung them up. These are polar graphs that students designed using Desmos. ![]() happy time for the promotion of their object. ![]() ★Celebrate Mother's Day, Father's Day, Christmas, Valentines, New Years, Birthdays, etc. letters and printed papers, formed during the Great Exhibition. ★Easy, simple follow along drawing lessons for kids or beginners. As Adobe Flash Player officially lost support in January 2021, the amount of hacking for pre-BTD5 generation games will likely be very limited. It is likely possible to hack into any Flash game in Ninja Kiwi Archives, but mods for pre-BTD5 generation games are highly inaccessible outside of Flash games copied and modded by third-party sources. Not much hacking has been known for pre-BTD5 generation games, although it's possible to play Flash games with hacked cash. However, hacking still has its ancient "bad-faith" roots by its prevalence in Bloons Adventure Time TD, as well as a lesser extent of hacking frequency in other BTD6 Generation games. Since then, it has gotten noteworthy mention by Ninja Kiwi, who later tells the Bloons community about the use of mods only in a privately hosted manner without any abuse of them in public settings. However, mods got a resurgence in popularity and showcasing, since November 2020. Since the period of Bloons TD 6 Generation, which carried over the popularity of "mod" showcases, modding temporarily halted when the main playerbase shifted mostly to the at-the-time newest game Bloons TD 6. However, the popularity of popular YouTubers showcasing mods as early as Bloons TD Battles Mobile has shown a turnover on the perception of hacking "modding" changes a game in a way that changes its gameplay in a creative perspective. During the time when the Flash series was the most popular, hacks were mostly seen as blatant cheating. ![]() Since the Bloons community has been developing, instances of hacks recurringly circulate on the internet. "Modding" is often seen in a positive light, although it is debated that modding showcases in certain popular Bloons YouTubers have caused younger audiences to assume the norm in modding without seeing the risks and responsibilities involved in modding. In general, hacking is frowned upon by the community, due to their common associations with cheating, but a subset of hacking called "modding", which aims to view a game in a creative perspective, emerges from the depths of hacking. Hacking is a controversial subject in the Bloons community, as it can be perceived by different viewpoints.

Or maybe I'm projecting, maybe it was always going to be a story about the personal struggles of Henry and Delilah, and everything else comes later.Ī bit of early banter between Henry and Delilah.īrenna: The ending is going to be really divisive, and I think a lot of people will be blindsided by it. It makes it more disappointing because of how good the rest of the game is, and it feels as though there was a grand idea in place that time or resources couldn't sustain. And judging by the notes I gathered and everything else you could find in the last hour, there's no other possible conclusion. Technically, the mystery was solved, and all threads reached their conclusion. Without spoiling anything, I don't think the story was concluded - not in a satisfying way. The conclusion to the mystery ended up being really disappointing. We're avoiding spoilers, but I bet you can guess which part. There's also one bit that is really - well. The game actively engages this idea in the beginning, with Delilah telling Henry not to be freaked out by being in the forest. From experience, getting scared out in the wilderness even on a sunny day is way, way more disturbing than you might expect, and that's really well captured. ![]() I kept turning the camera around, trying to look in every direction at once, convinced someone was just behind a tree. There aren't many scenes that take place at night, and the environment is just, you know, trees and rocks, and yet there were times when I felt oppressed, hemmed in, and claustrophobic. I am not a fan of horror games, but in that moment, Firewatch got me clenching my controller and left me uneasy for a bit.īrenna: Your mileage will vary if you're not a super emotional person, as I am, but I actually got quite scared by about two thirds through. I knew there was no weapon I could rely on like other games, I wasn't safe. That first encounter genuinely scared me. Maybe because the game has been teaching you throughout that you're vulnerable and never on top of things. I dunno what it was, but I wanted to GTFO so I could think. I ran looking for the exit instead of exploring like I'd been doing all along. It never loses steam, and it makes clear distinctions between moments of urgency and those that require a more relaxed approach. Like you said, there's no padding in there. I had to actually memorise the landmarks, learn how to read the map, and use the compass effectively. I was shocked for the better part of an hour that there's no arrow pointing somewhere or a distance indicator. There are canyons, mountains and a river, you only have your compass and a map. The first few hours set a certain tone in place and the first few "quests" help get you acquainted with the map and the game world by removing almost all visual aid. It leaves all reflection to you, and doesn't force it through elongated scenes or exposition. Sherif: Particularly great how the cuts are sharp, getting straight to the point. ![]() ![]() I can't remember the last time I played a game that didn't have any padding - a bunch of extra story and gameplay added to make the $60 crowd feel it was worthwhile (see BioShock Infinite, which I really enjoyed, but which didn't need about one-third of its events). ![]() There's just nothing extraneous in there. "Firewatch gives a certain splendour to even the most mundane of tasks. You realise later that every single moment, bar little throwaway jokes, is meaningful or additive it contributes to the overall story, the relationship between Henry and Delilah (which can't be separated from the story, regardless of which direction it goes in) and the evolving atmosphere. It's too short - or rather, it's so well edited. It's going to be crazy difficult to talk about without spoilers. Sherif: I've been writing some notes but they all end with me having to spoil things, which I would rather I didn't.īrenna: I sat up all night with it. Here's their correspondence, censored for spoilers of story elements beyond the first few minutes. There're some environmental puzzles and in-world story telling, but the real takeaway is the experience as a whole.īrenna and Sherif both played Firewatch and couldn't agree on who should write the review - or what they could possibly say without spoiling a very special game. Your main character (Henry) talks with the game's other character (Delilah) almost all the time. The only battle now is how not to ruin it for everyone else.įirewatch is a game about exploring a beautiful canyon, getting to know interesting characters, and chasing an escalating mystery. Firewatch was supposed to polarise Team VG247, but the verdict came back unanimous on this indie gem. Why would you choose to call the note E sharp instead of F natural? Even though they sound the same, E sharp and F natural, as they are actually used in music, are different notes. ![]() Looking at the keyboard and remembering that the definition of sharp is "one half step higher than natural", you can see that an E sharp must sound the same as an F natural. Any note can be flat or sharp, so you can have, for example, an E sharp. Write them on a treble clef staff.īut these are not the only possible enharmonic notes. Name the other enharmonic notes that are listed above the black keys on the keyboard in Figure 1.33. For musicians who understand some music theory (and that includes most performers, not just composers and music teachers), calling a note "G double sharp" gives important and useful information about how that note functions in the chord and in the progression of the harmony. ![]() Why not call the note "A natural" instead of "G double sharp"? The answer is that, although A natural and G double sharp are the same pitch, they don't have the same function within a particular chord or a particular key. Using double or triple sharps or flats may seem to be making things more difficult than they need to be. sharps and flats are rare, but follow the same pattern: every sharp or flat raises or lowers the pitch one more half step. A double sharp is two half steps (one whole step) higher than the natural note a double flat is two half steps (a whole step) lower. ![]() When a sharp sign appears in the C space in the key signature, all C's are sharp unless marked as accidentals.Ī note can also be double sharp or double flat. ![]() The goal is to eat as many sweets as you can and gain the most weight to reach the leaderboard.
